New York, NY — On May 4th, 2015 The American Cancer Society celebrated Marvin Hamlisch featuring music from his Score for “SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS” (Broadway Musical, 2002.) The organizers gathered a great artistic team: John Simpkins, J. Ernest Green and Tyce Diorio. The event, titled A Spring Tribute to Marvin Hamlisch, took place at the Hudson Theatre.
American Cancer Society’s Marvin Hamlisch Benefit on May 4th! Several Broadway stars gave an enthralling concert performance of “Sweet Smell of Success”, Marvin Hamlisch (music), Craig Carnelia (lyrics), and John Guare (book)
The cast included Marc Kudisch (Hand to God) as J.J. Hunsecker and Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan (Newsies) as Sidney Falcone as well as Adam Jacobs (Aladdin) as Dallas, Lindsay Mendez (Wicked) as Rita, Marissa McGowan (A Little Night Music) as Susan, Bernard Dotson (Sweet Smell of Success — Original Cast), Steven Brinberg, Peter Dugan, and Charles Yang. The ensemble will feature Craig Blake, Dionne Figgins, Matt Gibson, Justin Henry, Reed Kelly, Amanda Kloots, Ryan Steer, Mindy Wallace, Chryssie Whitehead, Ryan Worsing, and Sam Zack.
The performance was directed by John Simpkins with musical direction by J. Ernest Green, Choreography by Emmy Winner Tyce Diorio, stage management by Tony Award Winner Peter Lawrence and sound by Bob Rendon.

John Simpkins has directed musicals across the country, including the Off-Broadway 3 time Drama Desk nominated production of Joe Iconis’ Bloodsong of Love and the world premiere of the garage band rock musical The Black Suits in LA. J. Ernest Green is the Artistic Director and Conductor of Live Arts Maryland as well as the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra and the Annapolis Chorale. He also worked with and conducted for Marvin Hamlisch.

Tyce Diorio — Choreography
Keith “Tyce” Diorio is an American dancer and choreographer. He is best known for his work as a choreographer and guest judge on the Fox television series So You Think You Can Dance. He has choreographed and performed with Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Jennifer Lopez, and Ricky Martin. He won an Emmy Award in 2009 for Outstanding Choreography. Diorio also had a cameo audition in Every Little Step (2008), a documentary about the 2006 Broadway revival of A Chorus Line. Tyce Diorio
