New York, NY ‑The 2013 Tony Award winners were announced live on Sunday, June 9 from Radio City Music Hall. The Harvey Fierstein-Cyndi Lauper collaboration, Kinky Boots, took Best Musical; Diane Paulus’ circus-infused production of the Stephen Schwartz-Roger O. Hirson favorite, Pippin, won Best Revival of a Musical; Christopher Durang’s Chekhov-inspired comedy, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, took the prize for Best Play; and the recent production of Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? won Best Revival of a Play.
