LONDON, UK — March 1, 2013 — Returning to Royal Festival Hall for the first time since 1973, Liza Minnelli brought her greatest hits to London for one night only as part of Southbank Centre’s The Rest Is Noise Festival.
‘A living legend’ . Minnelli is a winner of multiple industry awards as a stage and screen actress and as a recording artist.
Here she presented her unique interpretation of cabaret songs, jazz standards and Broadway tunes, including numbers from ‘Cabaret’, the 1972 hit film that brought her international stardom.
Liza Minnelli’s appearance was part of Southbank Centre’s ‘Berlin in the ‘20s and ‘30s’ weekend, which explored Weimar Berlin as the centre of Germany’s political and artistic developments (1 — 3 March).
Bob Fosse’s film ‘Cabaret’, featuring Minnelli’s Academy Award‐winning performance as American artist Sally Bowles, was shown on 3 March.
